DATA FOR BELGIUM

Player data is extracted from GameTrack provided by Ipsos and extrapolated for Belgium by Sparkers. VGFB also commissioned an annual survey conducted by DVJ Insights. Survey of 700 parents and caretakers in Belgium between 25 and 60 years old with kids aged 4 to 17 that play video games.

Consumer sales data on pc and console is extracted from Game Sales Data (GSD) tracker, processed by Sparkers and commissioned by VGFB. Mobile turnover data is extracted from AppMagic.

  • Pc and console data (for 2023) extracted from Games Sales Data, the official tracker of the game sector, taking into account sales of video game consoles (including bundles), first and third party console and pc accessories, physical prepaid cards (for console and video game subscriptions), digital in-game microtransactions (estimate), full physical pc and console video games in all Belgian hypermarkets, supermarkets, specialized stores (except MediaMarkt) and online stores as well as full pc and console video game downloads (except Larian) on PSN, Xbox Live, Nintendo e-Shop (third party games only), Steam, Epic Games Store, Origin Store, Ubisoft Store, Battle. net, Rockstar Games store. In-game advertising, merchandise sales and pc hardware not included.
  • Mobile turnover data (for 2023) extracted from AppMagic taking into account sales of full mobile game downloads as well as in-game microtransactions.

Audience data is extracted from the Audience tracker by Sparkers.

Streaming data (for 2023) based on total streaming hours watched on more than 20 platforms such as Twitch and YouTube.

Company data is obtained via an annual survey of all Belgian companies active in game development and services, supplemented with official financial statements. Larian data only for studio in Ghent. Wallonia data provided by WALGA. Brussels data represents 87% from service providers and 13% from game development studios. Job data provided by Games Jobs Live.

Player data for Europe is extracted from GameTrack provided by Ipsos and commissioned by Video Games Europe. 60.000 respondants/year from age 6 to 64.
